SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Starting January 2026, Waste Management of Pennsylvania will be the borough’s residential trash service provider. 

If you have not received a service information brochure and invoice from Waste Management by January 15, please contact Borough Secretary Jenna White to provide your name and service address so that Waste Management can update their records.

Pricing

Waste Management pricing (unlimited bag service) and HHW/E-Waste Door-to-Door Service as follows:

  • 2026: $23.34 per month ($70.02/quarter)
  • 2027: $24.51 per month ($73.53/quarter)
  • 2028: $25.74 per month ($77.22/quarter)

Residents can rent a 96-gallon cart:

  • 2026: $8.00 per quarter
  • 2027: $8.40  per quarter
  • 2028: $8.82 per quarter

Waste Management Letter to Residents

Dear West Mayfield Borough Resident,

WM is proud to be your environmental solutions provider, and we’re excited to serve your community with reliable and environmentally responsible services.

Our new contract with the Borough starts January 1, 2026. As part of your collection program, you’ll receive:

  • Weekly unlimited bagged trash service. Bags must be in a lidded container.
  • Weekly bulk item collection for large household items.
  • WM’s At Your Door Special Collection® for safe disposal of hazardous materials and e-waste.

All these services are included at a quarterly rate of $70.02 for 2026. We’re committed to helping West Mayfield Borough stay clean and green.

Trash Collection

  • Trash is collected weekly on Friday.
  • Unlimited trash service for all bagged trash.
  • West Mayfield Borough’s ordinance requires all trash must be bagged and tied and placed in a container with a lid.
  • Place your bags at the curb after 6 p.m. the night before your scheduled collection day.

Bulk Item Collection

Bulk Collection is a convenient service for disposing of large household items. This includes items such as:

  • Furniture (e.g., sofas, chairs, mattresses)
  • Appliances (e.g., washers, dryers)
  • Carpet rolls (cut and bundled)
  • Other oversized household items

You may place bulk items out for collection on your designated collection day.

Bulk collection must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance through your My WM Account or online at wm.com/bulky.


Cart Rental- Get Your Cart Today

We’re excited to offer you the convenience of a 96-gallon cart for trash service.

West Mayfield Borough’s ordinance requires all trash must be bagged and tied and placed in a container with a lid. When you choose to rent a cart, WM will take care of all the maintenance and repairs, giving you peace of mind.

Rent a Cart: Only $8.01 per quarter in 2026.

Other Service Information

  • Vacant Properties
    If your property will be unoccupied for 30 days or more, you can temporarily pause your service. Contact WM at wm.com/support.
  • Snowbird Service
    If you’ll be away from your property for seven (7) days or more (up to 3 months per calendar year), you can request a temporary hold on your collection service. Just contact us at wm.com/support before you go.

Paying Your WM Bill With My WM

Your invoice includes your Customer ID—located at the top of the invoice. With this ID, you can easily create your My WM account. Having a My WM account gives you full control over your waste services. You can view your service and holiday schedules, manage your account, pay bills, and set up autopay and paperless billing—all in one convenient place.

WM At Your Door Special Collection®

WM offers convenient service in your community for residents to properly dispose and recycle home-generated special materials – safely, easily, and responsibly. These items may include paints, household cleaners, compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), automotive products, garden chemicals, batteries, electronics, and more.


Do you have old electronics in your home? Used motor oil? Old cans of paint? Used batteries?

Automotive products: Antifreeze, motor oil, oil filters, brake  fluid, transmission fluid, cleaners, upholstery cleaner, polishes, fuels and waxes

Batteries: Household and vehicle

Household Cleaners: Carpet and upholstery cleaners, tile and  shower cleaners, drain cleaners, cleaning compounds and rust removers

Household items: Hobby glue, nail polish removers, and more

Electronics: Televisions, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, mouse, keyboards, mp3 players, DVD players, gaming consoles, CD/tape players, VCRs, cell phones, desktop printer, scanner, fax machines, microwaves, CD rom and related cords

Mercury containing items: Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs), straight fluorescent tubes, thermometers and thermostats

Paint products: Latex and oil based paint, spray paint, paint thinner, stain, stripper, caulk, sealer, wood stain and wood preservative

Garden chemicals: Fertilizer, herbicide, pesticide

Swimming pool chemicals: Pool acid, stabilizer and chlorine

Unable to Collect: Ammunition, EV batteries, explosives, asbestos, tires, materials in unlabeled or leaking containers; additional unacceptable materials based on local or state laws
