Free Leaf Collection in West Mayfield

leaf rakingFree leaf collection begins in West Mayfield Borough this year on November 1st and lasts throughout the fall season.

To arrange for pick-up, call the municipal building at (724) 843-8330 and leave a message.

All leaves must be raked close to the side of the road for collection.

Leaves placed in bags will NOT be accepted. 

As a reminder: Burning of leaves is not permitted in the Borough (Open Burning Ordinance No. 101019).

New Burning Ordinance Approved

The borough has formally adopted new Open Burning Ordinance No. 101019 (replacing No. 02119 & Chapter 660 Open Burning).

Please note: Ordinances of the Borough are consistent with the laws of the Commonwealth, and they are designed to protect the rights, safety, and comfort of citizens. Articles X and XXXIII of The Borough Code of Pennsylvania provides for the creation of ordinances, disposition of fines, penalties and costs for any violation or failure to comply with any provision of any Borough ordinance.

The new ordinance amends a section on open fires for recreational purposes.

West Mayfield Community Halloween Night 2019

West Mayfield Community Halloween Night 2019 will take place on Thursday, October 31.

Trick or Treat time will be from 6pm to 7:30pm.

The West Mayfield Fire Dept. will provide safety patrols.

Residents are reminded to wear bright colored clothing for safe visibility, to carry flashlights, and to carefully inspect all candy before eating.

Borough Wants to Allow Recreational Fires

Notice of Intention to Amend the Open Burning Ordinance for the Borough of West Mayfield, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to Permit Recreational Fires Under Certain Conditions.

Be it known that the Borough of West Mayfield, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, will hold a public meeting regarding the adoption of a proposed amendment to Ordinance Number 021119, (an ordinance regulating open burning within the Borough) to permit, under certain conditions, Recreational Fires.

A full text of the proposed ordinance may be obtained by contacting the Borough Secretary and is also on file with the Beaver County Times and the Beaver County Law Library. Read the proposed ordinance here.

The public meeting will be held on Thursday, October 10th, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the West Mayfield Borough Building.
